Whenever you look at a beautiful landscape, you do not consider the amount of work and planning that goes into it. Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean you have to work morning and evening in your lawn to have a good landscape. Landscape maintenance is a bit difficult but if you have an organized approach it can be done in simpler ways.

The first step is to plan and learn about how to construct a low maintenance landscape. If you already have a lawn and garden, you have to spend some time modifying it but if you have to build a new one, then you can plan it from the scratch and make it a perfect lawn requiring minimum maintenance

Let us start off from the basics. The most basic factor associated with lawns is watering. One of the main issues concerned with watering the lawns is over irrigation or wastage of water. This mainly happens in case of manual watering systems. Whether you use a hose or a handheld sprinkler it is hard to eliminate water wastage. Not to mention the time taken for completing a single round of watering. If you have a big landscape with lot of garden plants and exotic ferns, then watering manually can be a real good labor. All this adds to the routine maintenance requirements. So install an automated sprinkler system for your landscape. If you feel that it is unnecessary at this point then you can simply try converting your existing watering facility to work on a timer. This would save your time and energy and also minimize water wastage. Once the grass and plants are used to a regular amount of watering, they tend to grow and respond in a more consistent manner.

For plants and garden ferns growing in pots, you can install self watering containers. These pots contain a compartment at their base that when filled with water acts as a reservoir. The water penetrates through the soil and reaches the roots soaking them directly. Certain plant varieties respond excellently to such techniques because the roots get constant moisture. The method can save you lot of time as you need not worry about watering these plants in particular.

You can cut down your landscape maintenance expense and time in several ways. Weed control is one of the most problematic areas a landscape has to deal with. The best way to tackle with weeds is to kill them before they start growing. There are several herbicides available in the market that effectively prevents the growth of weeds at their germinating stage. Use an organic pre-emergent weed killer for your landscape so that you need not waste time on pulling out weeds all the time.

Use slow-release fertilizer for your garden and lawn. This would allow you to have a gap of 3 to 4 months between two fertilizing sessions.

Landscaping is an act of men to verify nature’s beauty that needs consisted maintenance. Unlike natural landscapes, landscape made by man should take more attention and expertise because the improvised materials may not stand to natural inclinations of nature.

Here are some tips for your landscaping maintenance:

1. Have someone to continuously clean the surroundings. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. A clean surrounding of your landscape maintains the aura of cleanliness and peacefulness.

When there are trashes around you can’t expect nature to be peaceful because even they can’t speak, their natural existence should not be bothered by plastics and cans and any other man made materials.

2. Have someone to tend the plants. Plants need water and enough sunlight. Of course, your landscape is outside so they are having enough sunlight.

Don’t forget about the plants which can be shaded by buildings in your landscape area. Water your plants every afternoon at about four o’clock and every morning at six. When it rains you can postpone watering for the next day.

Cultivate the soil of plants in pots. This will give them enough carbon dioxide for their photosynthesis. By doing all these tending, you can expect a good result with your flowers and other kinds of plants in your landscape.

3. Maintain the grooming of your grasses. Good carpet grasses should be groomed every once in a while. When you see that they need some trimming, let them be trimmed.

Carpet grasses are good to look at and a good place to lie down to ease some of the stress you are carrying. So let your worries fly away when you are relaxing in your carpet grass along with the breeze your plants bring.

4. Maintain the running of the fountain or other man-made facilities in your landscape area. Have someone to attend to your man-made facilities. You can do it yourself if you know how.

Clean them once or twice a week. A clean facility always works well and maintaining them clean makes their lifespan longer.

5. Take good care of your animals. If you have a dog or a parrot in your landscape area, make sure you feed them well and keep them and their houses clean. Doing this brings you healthy benefits.

6. Talk to your animals, orchids and other flowery plants. Talking with your pets and plants may seem absurd but it is scientifically proven to be good, not only to them but to you.

You know what they say, that dogs are man’s best friend. They can comfort you in your times of distress and you can make your dogs love you more while your orchids are blooming even more.

These are some basic tips in maintaining your landscape area. Have fun!

Basically anyone doing anything that takes undesirable things away from a landscape or adds desirable things to an existing landscape is in fact a landscaper.

The guy that is cutting your grass that has grown too tall is changing the landscape so he is a landscaper.

We are providing a service here in the Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley area where in we are remove an old dead or dieing lawns from the landscape, prep the soil in order that it can support a new lawn, and then install a new lawn in the landscape. The preparation of the soil in order to support the new lawn to ensure that it remains a desirable lawn in the future is the key to why I am the best choice when choosing a service company.

What we do that is different in preparing the soil is that I use Composted Horse Manure and Roto Till that Composted Horse Manure into the existing soil. Composted Horse Manure is basically the digested vegetarian diet of a horse that has been handled in such a way so that it has had a chance to Compost and break down. Composted Horse Manure is still though organic matter, and it’s really a great idea to introduce organic matter into the soil. Introducing organic matter into the soil gives the beneficial earthworms something to eat, if earthworms have a good supply of organic matter to eat they begin to multiply and create colonies of earthworms, and if earthworms are eating they are also digesting and expelling their waste into the soil. Earthworm manure is the best stuff that money can buy as far as fertilizing your soil, so everyone wants more earthworms in their soil in the landscaping process and we are providing landscaping services.

Besides that Organic matter binds sandy soils and also breaks up clay soils. Introducing organic matter into your soil creates ways for your soil to absorb water and retain water, so it helps with conserving water. Did you know that 100 lbs of dry compost can absorb and retain 195 lbs of water? Everyone wants soil that drains well, but also retains water; well that’s what organic matter does for your soil. It also creates passages for air to be exchanged so that your soils can breeth. If any one is looking for ways to contribute to your soil for long term sustainable results you are now a horticulturist or even a permaculturist, so we guess we are more than just a landscaper and providing a landscaping services especially we worked for residential landscaping services, we are also a horticulturist and permaculturist. We think its just basic good common sense; farmers have been doing this to their fields for eons.

Competitors are all cutting corners though and just spreading man made petroleum based nitrate and phosphate fertilizer pellets, which has the same short term affect of greening things up, but it’s of a short term benefit and has to be done on a continual basis to maintain that greening affect so its not considered sustainable, but its quick and easy and cost effective for them to just spread it around and create a momentary green affect. I don’t think this is how I would want my lawn treated and so this is not how I treat your lawn.
